pretty_pantherMany people give the reason for not fully jumping ship as them not having friends here. I think a lot of that is because it is hard to find new friends when you jump if your previous friends don't jump with you so I've started a general non-fandom friending meme on my journal!

embodiment_dw. Set up by a good friend of mine after we found we strongly missed the Embodiment communities over at LJ, the challenge to keep a paper journal of some sort for an entire year is now on DW.
I've posted a nice little friending meme as a chance for everyone to get to know each other - if this piques your interest, come and join us! We don't bite. :)

quarantedeuxOur original friending meme was getting pretty overwhelmed, so I thought now would be as good of a time as any to get a new one started. If you have the time and inclination, feel free to go back through the introductions and comments at the old post. It seems like there was a good amount of meeting and greeting going on, which was very nice to see. Hopefully it will be just as successful the second time around!

LJ Refugees Friending Meme!

The biggest complaint I've seen from LJ users (including myself) is that DW just doesn't have the same community activity as LJ. Well, this is our chance to get that community going!

Basically, I hope that as DW becomes more active and becomes more of a community, people won't feel as torn about leaving LJ/The Legion of Doom. We shouldn't have to choose between our fandoms/interests and patronizing a company that has left its customers behind.
