I sing, I dream, I love...

singdreamlove...and I want to blog about it.
I am new here after fleeing the LJ scene, and I am hoping that I can find some awesome people here to make my Dreamwidth experience as rewarding as my LJ experience USED to be.
I've never been good at these "let me tell you about myself" posts, so you'll have to forgive me if I am all over the place with this thing.
My name is Miranda. I'm 27 years old and I live in Pennsylvania. I love to sing (I karaoke quite a bit), I have big dreams, and I'm a lover not a fighter. The purpose of a blog to me is three-fold. One, it's a release...it helps me to get things out that otherwise I would keep in. Two, it helps me to get an outsider's point of view when I need it. Sometimes it's just too hard to talk to people in your situations about said situations. Three, I want my blog to be part of a blogging community that allows me to interact with others as I would like for them to interact with me. I want to share, I want to learn, and if I make some friends along the way, that's an added bonus.
I promise not to bore you with entries that just go through what I did from the moment I woke up until I go to sleep. The things I write about will always have more substance than that.
I joined Dreamwidth late last week in hopes of getting back into blogging. In 2004 (at least I think it was 2004) I started an account on LiveJournal and I used it regularly for about six years. I loved it. Blogging my day to day was a great outlet for me and I met some amazing people, some of which I still call friends to this day. Some time between 2009 and 2010 the whole LJ thing just lost its appeal. Life took me in a different direction and I just couldn't get into using it anymore. I tried to make a comeback on LJ a couple of times, but it just never happened. From reading other posts around here I know I'm not the only one who the site lost its appeal for - but I'm babbling.
If you're interested please "add me." I really do look forward to "meeting" you.
