Despite my doing absolutely no harm to them, LJ banned me from [livejournal.com profile] news, [livejournal.com profile] lj_releases, and [livejournal.com profile] feedback. (And now [livejournal.com profile] ru_news and [livejournal.com profile] lj_ru_support also!) They haven't told me why, even though I've asked. (I'm [livejournal.com profile] splitcomplex over there, if anyone's curious.)

Has anyone else been banned after dissenting?

Edit: Here's the response I got to my support request.
Dear LiveJournal user splitcomplex,

Upon review, every moderator and staff who works in an official public community had come across your many comments yesterday. They were so prolific that staff feels you've crossed the line from dissenting and protesting into harassment and abuse of commenting permissions.

Discussion and dissension in is permitted; one user continually monopolizing all official communities in a hostile manner will not be allowed.

Regards,

LiveJournal Community Care Team

Needless to say I don't buy it, since my comments weren't any more "prolific" than anyone else's until I was banned.

Wow, us refugees seem to be coming in thicker and faster every day! Yesterday's LJ news post pretty much finished my love affair with that site "We're doing dick-all about the farcebook/twatter crossposting thing, but oh hai! you can haz custom heads which you have to pay for every year!" and that's a shame after almost ten years of postage on various different journal names and communities. However, I refuse to pay for a service that I stopped recieving some years past, and I'll bugger a hedgehog before I pay for a stupid custom head thing that doesn't even look good or make the entire debacle go away.

Anyhow, since Dreamwidth is now getting the money that LJ previously would have had from me, I decided to bring my community - [community profile] geek_girls_anon - over here too. We were quite successful on LJ with a fairly large member base, and you don't actually have to be a girl to join.

We cater to any and all fandoms rather than just one, so whatever you watch and whoever you ship you'll always recieve a warm welcome.

Please check out the userinfo and come and join the party!

...so I'll have a reason to post on my DW journal. I don't think I'll ever leave LJ completely, as in delete my account, because there are too many people I have grown to deeply love over there. I've been a paid LJ user since 2003. However, I will not pay another dime for a service where the staff are allowed to actively abuse their users and a system that doesn't care what it's users want and don't want. It makes me more sad than anything. It used to be so good over there. I would like to make a second home here, but it's hard to do with very few people to connect with.
