Friending Meme, Part Deux: Electric Boogaloo

Our original friending meme was getting pretty overwhelmed, so I thought now would be as good of a time as any to get a new one started. If you have the time and inclination, feel free to go back through the introductions and comments at the old post. It seems like there was a good amount of meeting and greeting going on, which was very nice to see. Hopefully it will be just as successful the second time around!

The info on this meme is optional, if you don't want people knowing your name/age or anything else, that's cool.

Name:
Age:
Fandoms:
Other Interests:
What people can expect to find in your journal:
Anything else:

The more people who respond to this meme, the better! If you have friends that are thinking of switching over, go ahead and pass this link on to them. If you're friends with long-time DW users who are looking for friends, invite them over! By all means, this isn't an ex-LJ-only party.

I <3 HP calculators. RPN is my hero.

I have nearly no experience whatever with RPN, but I suppose I'm going to have to learn if I want to leave my TI-riddled past behind. :D

(I used to write primitive symbolic logic solvers-- simplifying for i sort of thing --for my old TI-85 (with 28KiB of RAM! w00!). I asked, and my math teacher at the time thought that was sufficiently impressive that he told me to go right ahead and use the routines on tests. I generally finished in a few minutes and read books for the rest of class. 95% on a bad day.)

(More importantly, I ported the passed-around Breakout clone to the 85. But there was some logic bug after level 4 that I couldn't find. Ah, well.)

gonna show my age here .... my first quarter in college as an undergraduate was the quarter that both HP and TI introduced the pocket calculator. It bas badsically 4 function (except I think it would do exponents and roots) and cost $400. Of course, you could also drop the HP off the top of a 14 story building with no damage.

My current HP is actually switchable between RPN and arithmetic notation. I learned RPN first.

I was a Fortran programmer for a Reliability and Risk Engineering firm for almost 15 years. Now, I teach College Biology ..... (and live on teh intarwebz)
