Friending Meme, Part Deux: Electric Boogaloo
Our original friending meme was getting pretty overwhelmed, so I thought now would be as good of a time as any to get a new one started. If you have the time and inclination, feel free to go back through the introductions and comments at the old post. It seems like there was a good amount of meeting and greeting going on, which was very nice to see. Hopefully it will be just as successful the second time around!

Age: 45
Fandoms: The only ones I'm active in (if you can call it that) are Supernatural & Star Trek: TOS/TNG, but if I had more time I'd obsess over a lot more than this! I like the part of fandom that focuses on the stories & characters, not the [real or manufactured] wank &/or real life of the actors (no, I really don't care what Shatner named his new horse or what Jensen & Jared had for breakfast, but Captain Kirk or the Winchesters . . . ). Plus, I love Cons - went to both ST & SPN Cons this year.
Other Interests: I love stories. Just about any kind, as long as they're told well. Right now I'm in the midst of a huge Criminal Minds love-fest, I love Garcia & Emily & Reid & everyone else & truly hope to see them all next season. Er, yes, interests: I knit obsessively, love movies -- especially horror, sci fi, fantasy, & Shakespeare adaptations, love The Big Bang Theory, Dexter, Being Human, Survivors (the BBC show, not reality US), Sons of Anarchy, & there are more but this is enough for now. :) I used to spend all my free time writing & though I've eased-away from that I still love to read, anything from ST/SPN tie-in novels to literature & Ubuntu manuals. I love all kinds of music, especially hard rock/metal & blues, but Alice In Chains (with Layne Staley) is my musical obsession.
What people can expect to find in your journal: Mostly book/movie/TV/music-related squee & thinky-thoughts about politics & pop culture & whatever's on my mind. Sometimes I post about The Day Job, Kiddo & my cat, but not on the "play-by-play" level.
Anything else: My politics are Progressive (to put it mildly).
I'm single & still getting used to having an empty nest, so I'm looking for new things to do & new people to get to know. I've been thinking about kitchen composting & things like this for a while now & if I can put my knitting needles down long enough I may do more than just think.
Oh, & though I will edit my posts for clarity & grammar I usually won't remove the cursing or off-color bits. Just sayin'.
