Anyone who wants to delete their LiveJournal account but doesn't want to have to accept the new LJ Terms of Service to do so, there is a workaround that I stumbled upon through trial and error.
So give this a try and let me know if it works for you.
If you have the AdBlock extension on Google Chrome:

That's what I did.
But, you might want to claim an Open ID with DW url first -- because that ensures all your comments are saved as DW and everyone who comments to your posts are DW.
Which I did by accident, because I was trying to find ways to get access without signing the TOW from hell. Note - you can get around it, but not enough to actually post or manage your journal content or crosspost to lj.
All you can do with the workarounds is delete the journal, post comments to other's journals, and read the stuff. And even that's limited.

I hate the way LJ have done this and their silence on the subject for anyone wanting clarification. Just as shady as the actual TOS...
