rydra_wong: dreamsheep with spork and "SheepSpork" logo; no, it wouldn't make any more sense if you saw it (dreamwidth -- sheepspork)

There are also comms for all the obvious big-name (and small-name) fandoms -- just on my network page, I'm seeing lots of love for Merlin, Sherlock Holmes (in all its variations), Doctor Who, Trek (in all its variations), Supernatural, Avatar: The Last Airbender, etc. etc. etc.

I'm not even going to try listing them because I'm too lazy; the interests search is the best place to start looking.

But for stuff that's not fandom-specific, I'll throw in a plug for:

[community profile] eid_ka_chand and [community profile] daysofawesome -- fic about Muslim and Jewish characters respectively (with a bonus crossover challenge!)
[community profile] age_of_sail -- Temeraire, Hornblower, Master and Commander, Austen, Sharpe, etc.
[community profile] access_fandom -- disability in canon and fandom.
[community profile] dark_agenda -- encouraging writing characters of colour in fic.
[community profile] codswallopers -- hitting fictional characters with fish.
[community profile] rarelitfic -- just what it says on the tin.
[community profile] asexual_fandom -- for people in fandom who identify as asexual; includes lots of discussion about characters who are canonically asexual or can be read that way.

ETA: Sorry if this is spamming your post, [personal profile] jynx.

But yeah. The irony is that DW can look so fannish that in March, people started a Giant Non-Fandom Friending Meme to try to change the impression some people were getting that DW was "yet another clubhouse for the cool fandom kids."
