Top Comms?

I'm looking for a Dreamwidth equivalent of the Community Ratings, if there is one?
While I initially wasn't a huge fan of this feaature on LJ, I would really love to find active Dreamwidth communities relevant to my interests, and i'm having trouble finding active comms that aren't fandom-based.

I would love something like this as well, but there doesn't seem to be anything like it yet.

It's not a sure-fire way to go about it, but you could always trawl through the tags at http://dw_community_promo.dreamwidth.org I've found a couple of good ones that way.

Sorry, no such feature here as far as I know. But why don't you tell us about your interests, someone may be able to give you a good hint.

I typically utilize journal sites just to learn stuff. Even if its not something that particularly affects me. On LJ I typically read datinandrelatin, vaginapagina, bakebakebake, stretched, getupdreadup, et cetera. Also the Japanese fashion communities (which are inactive here from what I can tell, but thats okay.)

Basically, I just want to read real life entires that aren't about celebrities. :D I'm not picky.

For cooking type endeavors there's

omnomnom which is probably the most active of the ones I know, but there is also

bakeitup and

batchlunch and

boilingwater. If you like preserving food, there's also

inapickle. Some of these aren't always very active, but I'm sure with more people joining, that will gradually change.

...I agree that pretty much zip seems to happen around here and that's sad, so I created something like 230+ feeds which you can find on my page: it isn't interactive in the sense of a community, but they're on stuff like finance, celtic and folk music, the music business, gothy stuff, personal positive attitudes, journals of multiple personality folks, trauma psychology, cooking, charming ye olde furnishings, castles, faery stuff, some silly UK fashion and celebrity stuff, pagan things, manymany other themes...but it's what I spend the vast majority of my time here doing, reading these on my friends list while hoping a friend or community will actually post...!
