I will miss LJ of course, I've been there since I was 14.
But, I worry that I will lose all of my entries. So, I shall let my paid account expire, and work on backing all my entries up here.

I will miss some really cool people and communities though. Any recommendations?

What the others said about importing your LJ entries. But also -- if you can stand the ads -- you can let your LJ go basic, and still read your friends/comms there. Personally, I read the friends who have move to DW, here, and the friends who haven't moved, over there.

I don't know, but join something and be active! The communities here need some TLC and it'll take a certain growth of users to get to that point.

You can look for communities via dw_community_promo and create_my_comm. In addition, I recommend browsing posts via Latest Things. I've discovered some communities to join through the public posts there :)
